Larger sailing rig for the QC
On summer Saturday afternoons I crew on SomeOneElse's Boat (a Spacesailer 22). The skipper passed me his old #1 jib for use on Awi Zomé!
What do you reckon MIK? Obviously I'm going to be making the spars a bit longer but I think the luff and foot curvature looks okay.

Howdy Boatbuilders,
Last weekend I tested my Quick Canoe with a standing lugrig. The wind was very light but it gave me the chance to see how it works. The mast partner is Storer design, the lee-board is from my OZ Racer. The mast and sail is from Solway but I am working on the balance lugrig.

I managed to sail upwind although it could not catch up speed to quickly because of the light wind. The paddle was OK to steer, no need for a rudder for the time being. Next time I will try in stronger wind.

G'day Michael
I ain't MIK but I'll chip in anyway.
I picked up an old Hobie 18 jib for the right price a few years ago (free).
Catch with a jib is they tend to be cut for a hollow (concave) luff.
The Hobie jib extremely so.
Result is that on a mast which adopts a convex bend, the jib gets a case
of severe uglies. I can't use the Hobie jib in any way except as a jib, but I'll
grant that it is likely to be more extremely cut than any #1 jib.
If however, you were to install an aft mast with back-stay & jib forward,
set as a jib, as per this Phil Bolger design...
cheers
AJ

Looks good. In higher winds you might want to sit down on the bottom of the boat.

Larger sails, smaller boats!
