    Default Astute observations

The closest I ever got to a 4.0 in college was my blood alcohol content.

I saw a very large woman wearing a sweatshirt with "Guess" on it. I said "Left Tackle?”

I don't do drugs. I find I get the same effect just by standing up really fast.

I don't like political jokes. I've seen too many get elected.

The most precious thing we have is life, yet it has absolutely no trade-in value.

If life deals you lemons, make lemonade. If life deals you tomatoes, make Bloody Mary’s.

Shopping tip: you can get shoes for a buck at bowling alleys.

Every day I beat my previous record of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

No one ever says, "It's only a game!" when their team's winning.

Isn't having a smoking section in a restaurant like having a peeing section in a swimming pool?

Marriage changes passion . . . suddenly you're in bed with a relative.

Why is it that most nudists are people you don't want to see naked?

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't need the freakin' class!

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Wouldn't you know it! Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever.

Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?
To grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

That last one says a lot about our politically correct society. If they were allowed to read the Bible in school there's a better than even chance they wouldn't end up in prison.

I think most of us are only too aware that reading the Bible hasn't stopped people from behaving very badly, if not criminally.

No, but its a good start.

I am well aware of the short comings and atrocities through history and contemporary events, the same can be said of all or any religion/belief and including so called atheists who believe in their own doctrinal view of life, but some of the religions/beliefs do share some common values that are honorable and should be upheld.

Lets keep this in context, my comment was in relation to the last item in the original post which specifically mentioned the Bible and to reinforce the common view of humanity to aim for good, not evil or anti social behavior or generate snide remarks.

I did enjoy the original post and thought it humorous.

I Agree with simplicity. I myself growing up in a town of 200 people
never new until was an young adult in the military I Was Dyslexic
And I always felt stupid as a child even in high school not one teacher realized the
problems and it all came back when I migrate here to Australia I new enough English to get by
but It's all good now after 30 odd years living here but I still spell as the words sounds
hence why I rarely punctuate because I never learned how to in English
but now go figure My french is just as Bad if not worst

I am currently working with a labourer 46 who cant read or write but understands numbers with no problem, he is a hard worker, exceptionally good at picking up skills once shown how and does as near a perfect job as you would get. Also knew a brick cleaner who could not read or write but was consulted by all the brick companies when they had a problem and is responsible for 40% of the literature about brick cleaning produced by the brick and paver association. He would create the recipes for a lot of problem jobs be it graffiti or building site stains and cleaning.

Look at Ben Lexon and what he achieved, left school at 14, the rest is history.

Just be good at what you can do well and encourage others.

Here a granddaughter tried to report molestation to her grand parents who were founders of one of the 'Christian do good ministries'. She was recently awarded several mil from the ministry.
The list of the less than savory is so long that it can't be easily memorized.

It seems like every few months it's another version of 'Elmer Gantry' by Sinclair Lewis.
