Default Advise please Looking to buy a CNC for home

Hi allI have always had a fascination with cnc routers and have decided that i finally want to take the plunge and buy a used 1200 x 1200 machine. My work would be semi commercial and hobby solit timber , acrylic and some aluminium so don't need a super heavy duty machine but i don't really want a flimsy cheap one either.so can you guys who have had lots of experience steer me in the right direction? One option is I am considering a used Multicam machine which needs updating to use Mach3 software. has anyone ever done this and where would i find the correct information for what i would need for the upgrade?I don't mind having to put some work into getting one going but i am not real keen in building one from scratch.Thank you in advanceSteve

    Sorry Steve,

It is my weird sense of humour. I love a good pun. You are going to take the 'plunge' and get a router. So what do routers often do, they .............plunge.

Apologies, I won't ever do that again ]
