No instructions, from my understanding you have a basic VGA monitor and then you plug the touch screen into your serial port and install the drivers for the touch screen.
Pretty simple to setup in my eyes but I have yet to fire one up, I will be playing around with them this weekend.

I think we will need some drivers as well but should be easy have set a few of these up for the Aged different type but should be fine just hope they dont have any dead spots.
Well if you have one on the way you will need to build another machine to go with it maybe a RepRap something different.I like to move it move it, I like to move it.

I will be using up some of the stockpile of gear I have collected over the years. A hybrid mill and desktop machine are on the drawing board. Got distracted from these by the other builds.
I have some different ideas floating around in my head for a console. I got some industrial joysticks which are really neat - see photo. I have three so one for each axis but they are four way so might pull my head in and just use two.
Looking for some different switches which are smaller to what I have been using - no luck yet.Cheers,
Rod

I received one this morning, seems like a it should go together fairly easily.
mine seems to have something yellowish (looks like overspray) in between the touch screen and monitor. Hoping i may be able to remove the touch screen if possible to clean it off, will need to have a closer look over the weekend.
Cliff, great idea for a music stand! definitley save you from having to turn the pages!!

Yup, I reckon I could turn all my music into pdf files & wreck a USB keyboard & just wire up the page up & page down buttons to a couple of foot switches to turn the page.
I could even use it sideways by hitting CTRL ALT & Left or Right Arrow.
(You can turn it straight again by hitting CTRL ALT Up Arrow.)Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Hi Cliff,
There are a few Arcade Machine keyboard emulators around that make hooking switches up to easy. But it is a touchscreen so use your tongue to turn pages - sorry couldn't resist that one.Cheers,
Rod

I can get a hold of USB keyboard for less than $10 brand new but I think I have a couple of 2nd hand ones in a box somewhere already.
I already turn the pages with my tongue, that is what I was trying to avoid.
I want the touch screen function to do away with the mouse when changing music in between songs.Cliff.

Good come back.
I mapped a keyboard matrix once and it took ages with the overlays. A lot of the CNC guys use the windows on screen keyboard for inputs.Cheers,

Problem with touch screen
I got two of those touch screens and the image is good but I couldn't get the touch screen to work on either of them. I tried different drivers, rebooted the pc, suspected I had a faulty com 1 port, lots of head scratching... I read the manual and didn't help but something stuck in my mind about how it sensed your finger. Both of my screens had wide sticky tape holding the touch screen glass in place for shipping. I removed the sticky tape .. and now both screens respond. The sticky tape must have been confusing the sensor of the touch electronics.
Hope that saves some of you some head splinters.
I don't have a cnc machine yet but am about to start assembly with what I do have so far as far as rails and frame etc.
Peter
