    Default CNC assistance south of Perth

    Hi Guys,

    Anyone south of Perth ( Golden Bay ) who can assist me with setting up a new PC into my machines , a wood router and a mill.
    putting my hand up to say I am not qualified and iv'e googled the hell out of it but now officially stumped.

    New PC has Mach 3 , I added a PCI II card for a parallel port which is working fine but i cant get it to talk to the driver board at all.



    hopefully a simple thing i am missing.

    Hi Gary

    I think the most likely explanation is that the port drivers on the new parallel port board and the CNC's board are incompatible.

    some simple and probably already tested options
    is the new parallel port a two way port?
    can you set the new port to be as dumb as possible?
    are the versions of Mach 3 -- on the new PC and on the CNC compatible? can you down grade the new version to something the CNC may recognise?
