What time were you expecting people to arrive?
Were people to bring their own meat, drinks etc?

Had a couple of enjoyable hours with Russell in his shed today.
Plenty of CNC machines and components to see and I can vouch that the shed is clean - spotless by my standards.
    See you all tomorrow.
    Cheers,
    Rod

Anyway I hope it was as good for Russell as it was for me.
    Cheers,

Hi Benny, start 9.00 am finish 4.00 pm

Food is gold coin donation and no need for people to bring anything, I have helpers organised to take care of most of the food prep, got extra coffee, the missus is making some punch, I wasn't going to get carried away with alcoholic drinks as most will be driving but people can bring beer if they like.

And yes a good time had by all in the shed...but not in a gay way not that there is anything wrong with that if you are into that kind of thing...I gotta get some sleep !

Just finished up there, got an Elm Chan servo drive high power design (identical to the ones in my router) working on the bench, the wiring is a little (lot) dodgy but it is ideal to show the effects of tuning on a servo, I have some settings written down to show the different states of tuning.

    Russell.

Yesterday was a great day, good people and great conversation, I would like to thank everybody for coming along to the first North Queensland CNC BBQ, I think we can say it was a total success.

Thanks to everybody for helping out throughout the day, I didn't feel like I was the host but more a part of the BBQ where everybody contributed something.

The prizes were AWESOME !!! BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors, the prize pool was amazing ! It really made a great difference to the day in my opinion, I will put up a list of winners once I recover

    Pics and video will follow.

    Cheers.

    Russell.

Wow what a great day. Hats off to you and your helpers Russ as well as the many generous sponsors.
I'm sure we'll see builds featuring and inspired by some of the prizes in the near future, and I'm pretty sure another Bbq is on the cards, so you can put my name on the top of the next list.
I really enjoyed the displays and understand servo's a little more now.
It was great to meet some people I have drawn so much inspiration from, and perhaps even start to give a little back to others.
Thanks to Homann Designs generosity, I will be starting my console in the near future.
Simple solutions are only simple in hindsight.
