cnc router
Hi ,
well this a new experience for me , never been into forums before , so here goes i am looking for some help on what stepper motor kits i should buy for a cnc machine i have built out of ply an mdf, i have been in the building trade most of my life until i retired , and took up guitar making as a hobby , i became interested in a cnc router when i saw one on youtube , ive managed to knock one together , and it seems pretty good , but its getting down to what makes it run , is where ive come to a stand still i need to some idea to what i should buy , im looking at the chinese ones on ebay for a start, now my xyz axis is as follows x=600 y=450 z=100 im running 5/16th threaded rod and the axis's are running on skate bearings copied an idea i saw on youtube once again , so if anyone could please help me i would really appreciate thanking you in advanced

Hi bazrite
Try THIS SITE or THIS SITE .
They are both Australian companies and they are both active on this board. The big advantage of this is that if you buy something from them and it goes belly up then you can complain here. Of course, it won't get to that stage as both Chris and Peter are very helpful blokes who will do all they can to help you.
Be aware that if you are using threaded rod for your drive axis you will probably not be able to achieve any great speed. On the other hand, if your manufacturing skills are good then you should get pretty good accuracy.
