Hi All,
I am playing around making a new machine.
I can't give specs as it changes as I find more components in the back of cupboards.
I started thinking it was going to be a small, lightweight and portable unit but having found some longer rails it was pointless cuting them down so things are evolving.

I am giving a heads up on a NUC computer and a cheapish out of China USB BOB. I have played around with the NUC for the last week and did a hack up of the USB driver today.
The NUK is ideal for USB based CNC machines as it is smaller than an Intel Atom and can be mounted on the back of a monitor. It has no fan so dust is not drawn through the computer.
See more here.

The USB driver is here. There are other varieties and they probably work just as well. The usual Chinglish manual with majority of text in poorly converted english and the rest left as chinese instructions. All the same the manual was good enough to get it going and the lights are flashing as they should.
