Hi Allan,
That is coming along nicely.
I see you got the deluxe model with the Uncle Martin wireless antenna - mine just has a dome.
Where did you get the USB sockets - I have looked everywhere and can't find anything suitable.
The kids don't like the blue panels so I have to spray them a different colour this weekend - talk about fussy. I have a sound system attached now with a boom box and have been using it as a juke box all week.Cheers,
Rod

Hi Brisbanefitter
I think these ones came out of a governernment department as a few job search printouts were inside my kiosk.
You better take a hand trolley as they are heavy - 6mm steel plate on the bottom of mine. They must have cost a fortune when they were made.Cheers,
Rod

Rod,
I got my USB ports ... they are dual sockets, with each socket having a separate lead ... from a company called "Frontx" in Malaysia and it cost US$16.61 with free shipping. Web address ... http://www.frontx.com/cpx108.html.
I have noticed also that Altronics also have a single USB port called a gender changer, but you have to supply your own USB A-B lead ... it is metal construction and has screw holes for panel fixing and costs AUD$10 ... it is part no. P0836.
I like the blue panels, so have bought some (hopefully!) matching blue paint and I am going to repaint my machine beams from "Indian Red" (very boring colour anyway) to Zoot Blue! BTW, I am fitting 2 x 5" speakers into the sloping panel under the shelf, just so I can hear the little man in the computer say "remove the clip from the tool or horrible things will happen!"
Cheers,

noticed this question posted on the ebay ad. i lol'd up a lung, my wife works at CL and says those things spent more time in repair than actually working.
Q: Hi, Are these guaranteed 100% working ? Cheers, Ben
A: yes,there straight out of centrelink,with 30 days warrantyWorld's Shortest Fairy Tale
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?' The girl said, 'NO!' And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and went fishing and hunting and played golf a lot and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted. the end

Maybe the printer module which seems complex ... the rest is just a computer and a screen which should be no different to any other computer!

An untethered computer will run amuck.
Restrain it I say and show it who is the boss.
Now to be serious in that situation there are probably 100 different users a week with a small percentage of those trying their best to wreck the kiosk. I am surprised that they even had them for public use.Cheers,
Rod

CATD or CATA
Not a good photo, but shows the CATD ... Console Articulated Tethering Device or if you like, the CATA ... Console Articulated Tethering Arm!!!
It does work brilliantly and allows the console to move in a controlled arc without fear of pulling all the cables out. Will try for a better photo once I get the cables installed and wrapped etc.
Cheers,
