Would a routing CNC cope with laser speeds?

The head on the lasers I've seen moves much faster than a router and I wonder if the motors can handle it, especially if there's a kilo or 2 of spindle still attached.

I don't know much about this topic, but I have been looking at the Axiom CNC currently marketed by Carbatec.
While it is not currently available in Australia, the US version has an aftermarket Laser supplied by J-Tech. I believe that they also do versions for other CNC models.
I suspect it has many limitations compared to a stand alone Laser unit, but it may be a cost effective option for some.

    Regards

If you dont mind mucking around with electronics, the chinese 40W units are pretty good. Just be prepared to fix it when it arrives! I got one, works a treat. If you look around the internet for info, search for Chinese K40 laser, thats the generic name they go by.

BTW, the most of the laser's they fit to the CNC machines are pretty light on. IT would take forever to do anything with it. If you were to fit a larger laser tube I would think your average CNC would be too slow. My 6040 would certainly not do the job.
