    Default Picked up a machine

Just pick up a cnc machine for a great price, it’s 500x500 with a 300 x 300 work bed. It also has the laptop that the gent used with it, he has left the driver program on it which is GRBL Panel . He has also left some project files on it . NC file. However the design program has gone, what would be a good beginner program? I tried easel but I can get it to talk to the machine, as I can not see the CADs at the moment.
    Thanks Steve

Sounds like you're on top of it - I use Vcarve Cut2D for stuff like you've made in your second post.

As for securing work, I've recently started using the blue painter's tape plus superglue method that NYCNC describes on their Youtube channel - works very well so far.

Thanks Rusty, I used easel and the transferred the file to GRBL panel. I’m trying to get the settings over to a newer laptop as not much is compatible with the one he was using. So it’s hard to get the graphics right, as I cant see the final plan.
