Router for cnc
I am hoping someone can help, I was wondering what brand of router to use on a cnc build josh and I are planning. Funds are a bit on the low side, was planning to buy a air cooled spindle but thought a router for now might service. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Gerry

If you are planning to change over to a proper spindle in the not-too-distant future then I would suggest a crappy little Ozito from Bunnings. Work it into the ground and then buy the good stuff.

Thanks Bob I was thinking of doing exactly that, just thought I would see if there were some other suggestions I had not thought of. I am looking at putting a 1.5 Air cooled spindle on later. I had the privileged of seeings Rods Cnc machines and still working toward finishing Buzz and then starting on the cnc router. Have had a few interruptions.

I was at Rod's place not long ago and he showed me a nice little spindle he bought off fleabay that came with a variable pot controller. Would be far better than a cheap Ozito. Was around the $120 mark. Ask him if you see him soon. I think he said it was capable of 6k or maybe 12k
