    Hi.

    Is there a reliable way to check how much use a spindle has had? (2.2kw water cooled)

    The VFD usually keeps a record I think, but this can be cleared.

    The spindle itself has no record, so if the VFD has no record / not available / multiple have been used, you won't be able to determine.
