Where to start?
Looking into getting a cnc, but I have no idea where to start or what to look for, so any help advice or anything really will be appreciated. It would be used daily so I need something that will withstand constant use. I have looked into the kits, but I don't know if I would be able to do that without making a huge mistake lol.

The biggest question is, whats your budget?
Then, what do you want to do with it? how large does the cutting area need to be?

Nothing to pricey as I think my husband might have a heart attack so at the moment I'm just looking around to see whats available and different prices ect.
At the moment I am scrolling everything and get frustrated at getting stuck with the size restriction on the length on the 16inch. So I would like something that is going to allow me a decent cutting area.

Have you seen the larger 6040 machines on ebay?
NEW 6040 ROUTER ENGRAVER/ENGRAVING DRILLING AND MILLING MACHINE CNC r2 | eBay
If you want to go larger you'd probably be best to look at Jinan Quick CNC, they cost about $3,500 + import fees (~1500-2000) for the smallest model 900x600mm cutting area, but if you have the room last I inquired the larger 1.2x1.2M and 1.2x2.4M machines didn't cost a whole lot more, ~6K I believe it was for the larger 1200x2400mm base model, here's a thread on them over at cnczone

{EDIT} Also be sure to also read feedback from people who have already bought the Chinese machines, some have required to do a bit of work to get them up and running.

Natty
The first rule is the cnc machine is it 50mm to small by the third job
The second rule is the cnc machine is it not quick enough by the fourth job. Meaning the drives are to small, the spindle has no grunt
The third rule is you break tools
Apart from these rule it great fun
Put up a list of the type of thing your thinking of making. The people here have been there and done it wrong and then correct it. Just so you can do it correct the first time. Now that a good deal.
