Hi I'm john and have just finished building a wood cutting CNC machine on a tight budget. I was using a $20 angle grinder motor that was modified to suit the job, and initially it worked well. No speed control though, which meant it was always running flat out. The upshot of this was it started to to play up, and quickly smelt like a burnt out motor.
So stretched the budget and bought a Ozito plunge router (I know - I've read all the comments about them), but it is working well - I now have a different set of challenges however.
One of which is - I have been using a 1/4" solid carbide end mill cutter for 'roughing out' (see attachment). This is actually designed to cut metal and is causing 'burning' on the wood. I am having difficulty finding a supplier for the 1/4" cutters for wood and am wondering if anyone out there can assist me!!
Many thanks in anticipation.
John
