Default GUIDELINES / RULES. Please read BEFORE POSTING

This forum is for product reviews performed by members. The intent of the forum is for members to pass on their honest opinion of a tool to other members. It is not the place for a tool to be torn to shreds because a member has had a bad experience, that is why Have your say exists.

These reviews are expected to be independent of a retailer or manufacturer. The proper place for a product 'review' by a manufacturer or retailer is in the Announcements Forum. Note that an employee of a company is viewed as an agent of the Company.

In the event that a member derives some benefit from the review (free gift, tool, payment etc) they should disclose it as a simple courtesy to their readers to make up their own mind as to whether the review may be biased or not.

Shill posts will be deleted (as a minimum, further action may be taken if warranted).

Each and every review should commence with:

Disclaimer: I do/do not have a direct or indirect financial or other interest in the product or the provider (including friendship).

The nature of any "do" response to the above should be explained.

In general, anyone making comments on products throughout the Woodworking Australia forums should disclose any relationship they may have. This includes a negative relationship (using a negative review to harass a vendor).

From Wikipedia (edited):
A shill is a person who helps a person or organization without disclosing that he or she has a relationship with that person or organization. Shill typically refers to someone who purposely gives onlookers the impression that he or she is an enthusiastic independent customer of a seller (or marketer of ideas) when there is an undisclosed relationship.
