    Default Beard Watson wardrobe

Bought this 2 days ago and really want to clean and preserve it. What ever there was in there for hanging is gone Chipboard shelving was installed
I will remove the shelving and replace with wood shelving more suited to this era. This will be up-cycled into a bookcase and file storage in my new home office.
I'm looking for advice of correct cleaning, application of new varnish for the scratches, and how to repair the latch.
Also can anyone help me understand what the wood is? Appreciate the great advice in this area. Cheers, Nick
