    Default Any idea how to approach this?

    I've got a really nice mid-century Sweden rosewood coffee table I'm doing up. I've sanded back the rundown top and nitro-ed it. Now I'm ready to put the legs on and it has a very quirky attachment system using these unique metal parts.

    You'll note the screw part has shorn off one of them. Now this is nothing more (I'm guessing) than a parallel-edged screw (a hefty 5mm one) welded to the other metal part. I have never at any point seen a screw like this in any of the hardware chains here. Any idea what a screw like this would be called and where I might be able to get one (1) because that all I really need.

    The alternative would be to do a much less sturdy casting in tin or something but that's an absolutely last resort.

    Any ideas?

    Or find a forum member to weld another coach bolt to the blade.
    There has got to be someone in sydney that can do that.

    The welded coach bolt appears to be the better option.

    Ok so I'm looking for a coach bolt. Welding I can sort through a mate. It was the actual terminology of the missing bit I was after......but it's just a common or garden bolt. Much appreciated.

    Don't think I've got one....the thing has been in bits for a while. But here's a couple of Swedish armchairs I had done up which are a couple of decades older. Just because they're, you know, Swedish.
