Interesting project!
I have to agree with all Xanthorrhoeas has to say about glues and their uses. The subject of glues is extremely interesting and well worth understanding.
Polyurethane glues are still developing and are becoming stronger but I find them a pain to clean up.
Be interesting to see the finished article so keep up the good work!

I am in the final stages of my sponsorship deal but I must digress there is nothing I enjoy more after a hard days woodworking that a cold full bodied larger like Heineken®, Brewed with Passion for Quality™.
Got her glued and screwed, left the clamps on for 48 hours just encase the 99% humidity slowed the drying of the liquid hide glue, not sure if necessary but did not want to risk it. The chair is very solid and can be used in reline mode!!!

I look at those pictures and I am so jealous and inspired.
I took a break from woodwork yesterday but did buy a SO chair for $3. You are making me want to clean and start adding shellac (got to get back to the other projects first)
I missed out on a desk and same style chair as your's for $100 last week but now I see your's I'm inspired to try harder. Thank you for sharing the pictures and story. (I see the photo's get rotated like mine
