1948 Ford Monster Truck with a Peterbilt twist.....
1948 Ford Monster Truck with a Peterbilt twist.....
A bit before the Christmas Toy Pallet Challenge I had started cutting the materials list for this Monster Truck build....
I'd had a look at various others both on this forum & LumberJocks plus took note of Bret's advice to strengthen the axle mounts, thank you....
So then with the challenge, I had to postpone it build and showing, so I'm pretty advanced on this Peter built FORD truck...
I've only been taking photos with the phone so some aren't too sharp.
I've done a few timber changes along the way, the main one is the ute/pickup tray sides...
The timbers are as follows...
Blackheart Sassafras for the engine, cabin & ute tray;
Zebra for the mudguards;
Red Gum for the main frame;
Merbau for the axle mounts;
then the bullbar plus the sides of the ute tray are from scraps/offcuts which "Pittwater Peter" gave me....
The progress from here will be slow-ish, as next week my beautiful bride & I celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary and are going away for a long weekend down to Manly & seeing some of the sites of Sydney....
Cheers, crowie

Take your time with the build but at the same time bring it on!
Gotta luv a monster truck even if it's a Ford.
Congratulations on the anniversary it's nice to know people who are there for each other.
Hope you both have many more happy years together.
Cheers
Trev.
