    Default 1966 Repco Brabham

A model making friend from interstate sent me some drawings of the Repco Brabham knowing I had a soft spot for wheeled models.
Could't resist the temptation to have a go at it. As always the wheels are the first to tackle , rims blackwood centres with jelutog trim, tyres
are painted with water based charcoal . Started drawing up plans for the chassis. John

I could never work out the lack of respect for the Jack.
He was revered by fans overseas, considered an elder stateman by the drivers and a very successful drivel/owner. Reminds me a bit of Phil Irving who was from a similar era.

Got the chassis into shape with suspension and steering , had to modify the chassis to get the steering to work. The springs are set to allow for extra body weight, now for the rear end. John.

The BT19 now has 4 wheels , all independent , the model is a 12 to 1 scale but not a scale model.
Body has been band sawn to shape , the centre strip and nose is a copy of the paint work on the original. John.

After 5 weeks since my last post, the BT19 is finally finished. I'm not at all inclined to post work in progress and rabble on about construction details.
Hope everyone likes the car. John.

I don't know how I missed the compltion of this model but all I can say is that we are very fortunate to have some great builders on here and you are up amoung the top of them.

    Fantastic build

On the first post I stated a friend from interstate sent me drawing of the BT19. He has made the car, here is a couple of photos to show the quality of his work, makes mine look like a toy. John.

Nine that's one super nice project can you tell us how big the car is.
There are so many small thin details I would think a pretty large model to get the strength for parts, just wondering.
