Thread: 2/3 scale Indian Straight Four.

From what I can find out I'd say your pretty much spot on too Ray!.
I got this information today from a fellow on an Indian Motorcycle forum in the States.
"Indian made their own fasteners on automatic screw machines, and there were no raised markings. It's only when fasteners are cold headed that you see markings. Also, everything was nickel plated in the 20s."
I can either remove the markings from the bolt heads ie grind them off.
Or I can swop them out for older ones as I find them.
I think I'll take the later option!
I made the clamp to hold the speedo cable and started work on the brake rods today.
I also finished up detailing the left side of the bike.
The small picture in the top right of the photo is a slightly later model straight four.
But it makes for a pretty good comparison of the overall layout.
I'm pretty happy with the way it's come up.
Possibly my version is a little to neat and clean, but I believe Dave has a very oily and dirty rag from his bus waiting for me in Jerilderie!.
Cheers

Leave it to the old bulls Dave, your not much more than a calf!
By the by red has no effect on bull's their colour blind, more likely their just in a bad mood!.
If the only future you had was on a McDonalds menu I reckon you'd be a little antsy and all.

I got the throttle cable connected last night.
Also spent sometime refinishing little bits and pieces that needed attention, from being knocked around during the build.
Hopefully some more work on the rear brake rods today.
The only slight bother at the moment is I've put my lower back out again.
But the upside is at least it happened now and not in a few weeks.
That really would have been a "Bother"!.

Now comes all the little biddley bits and pieces that make the bike actually appear like its ready to go roaring off into the sunset.
Looking better every time I come to look at it. Didn't think I'd like the all red color scheme, but I've changed my mind now that the whole bike is coming together. Well done Trevor... well done.He who blesses his neighbor in a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted as cursing!

I was thinking the bike might end up looking a bit to red myself at one point.
But as it's turned out I couldn't be any happier with the paint scheme.
Really glad you like the way it's coming out!
I'm really looking forward to the weekend myself.
It will put a nice end to what has been a long but enjoyable build!.
There's a lot of other really kool things in the useful box I'd go for before those mate!.
I hope your still looking after that bandsaw of mine.
Cheers Guy's

The backs still a little ginger today (but a lot better than yesterday) so I thought I'd make a start on the taillight bracket.
I only needed to cut it out on the bandsaw then the rest of the day is easy sit down work.
I'm making the bracket out of a single piece of 3mm MDF.
Once I'd drawn it up and cut it out, I started steaming the area's I needed to bend.
At the moment it's all looking pretty rough and ready, but I'll spend the afternoon shaping it out.
I'll probably resize some of it as well.

How do you steam it? Over the spout of a boiling kettle?
