Well it's way to hot to work in the shed at the moment.
So I thought I'd use the time to bring the built right up to date.

The exhaust valve springs and oil feed lines are under the engine in front of the barrel's.

    IMG_1062.jpg IMG_1063.jpg

The spring's for the exhaust valves are coat hanger wire, the rest is made from some washer's and nut's,
dowel, MDF, the casing of a pen, metal rod off an old cloth's horse and some copper pipe.

    IMG_1074.jpg IMG_1076.jpg

Given a coat of chrome paint it start's to look the part.

    IMG_1078.jpg
Well that pretty much is where I'm up to.
At the moment I'm working on the exhaust pipes and trying to come up with something for the sparkplug's.

    IMG_1073.jpg

Thing's will slow down now, as I'll actually have to do some work to show you.
I hope you like it so far, I'm certainly having a great time building it.

    Cheers.

I got the sparkplugs done today.
Their a type I hadn't seen before called Splitdorf.

Apart from being the right plugs for an Indian of the period, I like the contrast of the green.

    IMG_1088.jpg IMG_1086.jpg

I'm not overly happy with the lead's but I can change them out later.
When I find some brayed cord that's the right diameter.

    IMG_1084.jpg IMG_1095.jpg

I'll start on the exhaust tomorrow.
    Cheers.

I got started on the exhaust today, and added a sleeve for the sparkplug lead's to run through.

I still have to added the heat shield and reduce the end of the pipe.

    IMG_1098.jpg IMG_1100.jpg

There's not much in the way of timber in the exhaust it's PVC and a ton of bodyfiller.
But the top flanges are MDF.

I got started on the carburettor today.
But I also finished off the exhaust manifold.

I reduced the end for the pipe, and made a heat shield.
Gave it a coat of paint and added some nut's and bolt's.

    IMG_1107.jpg IMG_1113.jpg

I'm pretty happy with it so far, there's still a heck of a long way to go.
But I think it's starting to look like an engine.

    IMG_1110.jpg IMG_1119.jpg

Anyway hope you like it so far.
I'll put a couple of day's into the carbie and see how it goes.

Looks like an engine to me. A real one. Any more detail and this thing will actually run.
    Looking forward to the carby.

I gave the carbie a bit of a go over the last couple of days.
It's been a fiddly little thing to work on.
But at the same time great fun trying to get the detail into it.

    IMG_1132.jpg

At the moment I've got the body of the carbie and the bowel made, and in primer.

    IMG_1121.jpg IMG_1125.jpg

I made it from MDF, Pine, PVC, a Pacemaker Pen and a piece from a small tent peg.

    IMG_1152.jpg IMG_1133.jpg

Once some hardware is added it should look pretty good.

    IMG_1134.jpg IMG_1137.jpg

I've got to make a few more bits and pieces for it, as well as a short ram tube.
But the tricky part is done.

Well I'm still working on the carburettor.
I've added some more detail with some serial numbers, a ram tube and the choke plate.

    IMG_1153.jpg

The small screws in the choke plate are from an old pair of glasses.
    IMG_1155.jpg IMG_1159.jpg

It really is a fiddley little thing.
I reckon I've still got another two or three days work to finish it.

    IMG_1154.jpg IMG_1162.jpg

    Cheers.

I'm still adding detail to the carburettor.
I really thought I would have it done today, but the throttle lever took way longer than I thought it would.

    IMG_1170.jpg IMG_1171.jpg

It ended up being a really fiddle little thing to work on.

    IMG_1178.jpg IMG_1181.jpg

In the end it took me almost the hole day.

    IMG_1186.jpg IMG_1192.jpg

I'm going to have all sorts of trouble finding bolts and screws small enough
    to fit it.

    IMG_1188.jpg

Still it ended up looking pretty good on the carbie.
Hopefully tomorrow might see it all finished.

    Cheers.
