Graet job. I like the way you thread the tires. Does that paper guide come in the plans? It is great to see the jigs and methods people use to do difficult or repetitive tasks.

Looks great ..... When scrolling through the photos I was thinking that it was a fairly cool looking looking old pickup .... then it started to get bigger and then the wheels

Looks cool. Good job on the wheels too. Time spent on details like that really set it off.

Shannon.

Well the building of the 48' is done. I just have to wait for a cool morning to put a few coats of finish on it. Im going to use spray can poly. I built the axles, driveshafts and transfer case and glued everything together. The axles are not pushed in all the way as I want to finish the wheels seperately. Also had to do a repair on the log truck my youngest hurled it off of a table and broke the front bumper clean off!
thanks for following this build,
Bret

What a top job you've made of the Monster Truck,
and the drop-deck semi is excellent for transporting.
Sorry about the youngster breaking bits,
but at least you have the where-with-all to fix it.
Thanks Bret for all the effort on the WIP photos,
it's been a great ride from all away across the pacific.
Cheers, Crowie

Well I finally got around to putting a finish on the truck. I sprayed 4 coats of satin poly and then rubbed it out with steel wool and put a coat of wax on. It is missing the front bumper. I took it off to spray the truck and then forgot to spray the bumper

6 hours later!!!! Man these boys are rough. I will have to glue the axle back together and then drill a vertical hole through it and put in a hardwood dowel. Maybe it will survive a whole day.
