    Default Battlestar Galactica Viper

    Hi,

One of the things I have always wanted to make is the Battlestar Galactica - the original version not the newer shinier version. I plan on making a model of the Galactica when I am on 8 weeks holidays, but to start the creative juices flowing I have made a Starhound Fighter - also known as a viper.

Not much to go on plan wise - photos and basic schematics are about it. So I just tried to make one by eye and a couple of good pictures. The canopy is not steep enough, the fuselage is not quite right, but on the whole I think it looks ok.

I have painted it in black and silver. Not authentic but as a painter I make a good woodworker. I have worked out what I need to change for the next one and it will help me with the scaling of the galactica. Does anyone know of a good scale calculator on the web?

    Thanks for looking.

Todd, that looks pretty damn good to me, well done

Here is a link to a viper, http://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/im..._viper_mk2.jpg and if you ever find yourself wanting more, go to http://www.shipschematics.net/ , http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/starship_database.htm or http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/index.htm , more star ships than you'll know what to do with, should keep you busy for years.

    Thumbs up

    Well done Todd!!

Science fiction is a great source of toy inspiration and it seems to me many are fairly simple.

Good looking ship! As for scale calculators just do a search on "scale model calculator". I did it a couple weeks ago and found several. I don't know how good they are, didn't try them but was just interest for future projects.
