While you cannot fit a square peg into a round hole, it seams that your roof is full of square holes.
How did you make the square holes?
Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like one row is out of line.
Look forward to the rest of the build.

HandyJack the top was lined up by eye then after gluing up the wood was squared up on the table saw and miter saw by eye so may be a little off center but for a first try it turned out all right for this quicky project.
My square drill bits maybe a little dull but they get the job done. LOLAn Index Of My Model making Blogs on Lumber Jocks.

Crowie I just built a new tread making jig so which one do you think?
So yes the Bob Cat is really a guinea pig. LOLAn Index Of My Model making Blogs on Lumber Jocks.

Sorry Crowie but this project is way to small for this modeler to fiddle with tracks, there are some gifted builders here with the gumption but wheels for this build will have to do. lol.
PS I had thoughts of using the tracks from the half track plans for the tracks but just not in the cards at this time, but my mind has thought about it.
Here is a look at the wheels I made today, for the Bob Cat.

I really like Bob Cats a great tool around a construction site to get those jobs done that no one really wants to do.
I also like these models because they sit just right on the back of a Low Boy trailer to fill in a lot of empty space.
Here's the blog on the Bob Cat.
Built with oak and maple with a Danish oil finish.
I built my first one the end of 2016.
