Christmas Gifts - Pull Along Block Spinners for the little ones...
I'd seen a little girl who was visiting my daughter place having a whole heap of fun with the Pull Along Block Spinners she had on the toy shelf.
I asked about her playing with the toy, the reply was that she loves that toy dad.
Well that got me thinking, I need to make her a special one in pink; plus a couple of Christmas gift give aways.

For such a simple toy, there's a little bit of work to make them so it's always best to make a couple at time.

Christmas is giving and a hand made wooden toy is always special!

Christmas must be coming.
Handy is working on overtime with all the toys being made in Crowie's work shop.
The elves are struggling to keep up with Handy.
No rest here until Christmas Eve.
Many a smile will be worn
With all of Handy and Crowie's work.
The drilling and cutting,
And the splashing of paint
Christmas must be coming.
Well Done!

Thanks Crowie.
You inspired me Crowie, to make a block spinner toy for our Granddaughter and I've just finished it. I made it like a road train but her parents can decide how many trailers she can manage at one time.
I probably should have made the blocks taller, like yours, to give it more weight because it's a bit hit and miss unless it's on the carpet.
I've got to make another one for our Grandson who's a couple of months younger. It'll be a while before they can play with them, since they're not walking yet.
Thanks mate, you're a legend.
Cheers,
Geoff.

Painting each face of the block a different colour makes this toy even more appealing for the little ones. I have added this to the list of simple toys that can be made at our wood club for our Christmas toys for charity program.
Thanks Crowie & Geoff for jogging the memory!

Top job Geoff, yours looks good and I like the road train idea especially for country Australia.
My blocks are 1.5” square and 2.5” long.
I do 5/16” dowels with the block holes at 11/32”.
The dowels are 1/4” shorter than the block when the block is on the dowel.
The block, dowel and wheel face are all painted one colour using six different colours for the six blocks. This helps with colour coordinations for the children.
The wheels are cut with a McJings 2” Wheel Cutter.
Cheers Peter
