Here are a few photos of our recent wood show. The wood work is from regional wood working clubs from South East Queensland. Our club won the first prize.

Thanks very much. There certainly is some wonderful talent out there in the woodworkers clubs.
Today and tomorrow Neil Scobie , world renowned Turner and Woodworker will be demonstrating his skills at our club. His work is outstanding. I'll post a few pics of his visit in the next couple of days.
Thanks for the offer of wood for the toymaking for the Salvos' Greg, it would be greatly appriciated.

    This is terrific.

I wonder if in a new thread if you could give us a rundown on the Cooroy Wood Club and also some info about your Woodworking Show.

I must have been asleep under a rock not to have taken much interest before now. Pity I am on the Gold Coast but I would love to drop in and see how you guys operate and learn about your Wood Show and Club.

I am in two Wood Clubs on the Coast and I would really like to meet up with your guys.

I am amazed at the quality of work at your club. The bowl from a board truly amazing and would love to see how that one was done.

On your dining table and chairs picture, what are the item on the left and right sides.
I really like you little pianos, the car and boat and trailer and the axes and chopping blocks.

    Default Cooroora Woodworkers Club

    Cooroora Woodworkers Club
"The Cooroora Woodworkers Club was first established in 1988 to provide fellowship for those who share the common interest of woodwork and is located near the boiler house and kilns.
The group consists of 150 members from Cooroy and surrounding districts.
Member’s woodwork from many woodworking disciplines is on display in the Club House Gallery.
Each year in May the Cooroora Woodworker’s host the Cooroy Wood and Craft Show.
Members donate hundreds of toys for the Salvation Army at Christmas and participate in many other charitable works.
It is open between 9am – 12pm Monday to Saturday."

Additionally: Attached are the last two Newsletters from the club for your enjoyment.
As Editor of the newsletter I've had the privlidge of meeting some very talented woodworkers at our club and other clubs in S.E. QLD. I've had fun putting the newsletter together and had great success selling my toys through the club and the Cooroy Wood and Craft Show.
Details of the next Wood Show are in the latest newsletter. If you're in Qld and want to enter our interclub competitions next year, please contact the club.

P.S. The items on the left and right of the table and chairs are trunks with handles, like most of my doll house furniture the features are cut into the wood a few Milimeters to give the effect of doors, lids or draws etc. The toys last a long time that way .

Thanks for sharing all that information. Your Club and members are an inspiration and I especially like the idea of your Inter Club visits to share ideas and concepts.

Thank you very much. I hope to see if i can get put on your e mail newsletter list as I am sure what you are doing will be a great benefit to our club also.

Sometimes we need to look over the fence to see where we are going and what improvements can be achieved.

Cool That time of the year again when the jolly guy in the red suit needs a little help :)

    Hi Everybody,
Just dropping in to show you a few things I've been working on over the past couple of months.
The weather has been great and my health has improved, so I've been busy in the shed making toys.
I had a go at selling them at the Pomona Markets the other day.
I'd love a dollars for all the compliments I received. It was great to hear.
    I did ok.
I expect to do even better next time with customers returning with their children's wish lists.
My good wife was a great help on the day of the market.
I hope you like the photos.
    Have a good weekend everyone

Brings back memories of home on the farm. We had a LWB Ford Blitz which I learned to drive on, old side valve 6volt system, vacuum windscreen wipers, 4 speed crash box, bit like stirring paint to find the right gear.

Joined the local bush fire brigade, same truck again, so when I was equipment officer, changed to 12volt still using 6volt starter motor, never failed to start after that

    ...... those were the days

BTW, the SWB was made by Chev and had a 6 cylinder motor
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

    Cheers
    Ray
