Default Cubby house with a difference - Rocket Ship

Sometime ago I mentioned I was making a cubby house for an Autistic boy who wanted to fly to the moon. These photos were on my partners camera, which she found recently. Lost the camera when she got her IPad!!!!
When his mother asked me to make him a rocket ship, I thought she wanted a small one about 300 -450 mm long, but no, it was to be a play house for him.
Details are approx 2.3 m high, 1.2 m diameter, made mainly from 40 x 19 pine and 3 ply, with 19 mm ply for the curved sections and fins. It has a blackboard inside the door, a Commodore speedo, to seehow fast he's going, which can be seen in the bottom right of photo 3, a small desk for whatever, a CB radio, (no power though), pictures of space in some portholes to make it look like outer space. These were done and laminated by his mother.
Total cost was around $350.00 for which I charged her $300 as she has another 2 autistic sons so I took pity on her.
There were no plans used for making this, so I hope no one asks me to supply some????
The young man in the bottom pic is the "Pilot", as you can see by the smile, he's real happy with it.

Great build and nice thought for mum. It's a good feeling being able to help someone less fortunate.

That's out of this world. x100 You have done more for that young fella and his mum than any professional help could ever achieve.
I've a sneaking hunch that it won't be long before there is a whole fleet of these popping up in back yards...

If there is, they won't be coming out of my shed, took me something like 5-6 weeks to build it, 4 days alone for the speedo console, it was a nightmare!!!
If someone wants details on how I made it, I could do a set of drawings for it. I think I can remember how I did it???

Nice work, hopefully they wont want you to make moon base alpha next time. although I do question the use of a commodore speedo as it wouldn't register very fast..... hahahahaha sorry a ford man.
