toys and joys is good ... plans are quite detailed but still relatively easy
gatto (usa) has more difficult and more detailed plans as well
Wooden Trucks Plans and Patterns for wooden toys Enjoy Making Wooden Toys ... is australian .. the plans are much simpler and easier
cherry tree plans (also usa) has a mix of quite difficult "model" type toys and quite simple "playing with" toys

A couple of others that I know of are Peter Aschis and Roger Jenkins, I have had a few plans plans from Roger, they are full size on A3 sheets, and easy to work from.

Hope this helps,

I have built one of Roger Jenkins plans which was published in the Woodworker magazine. This is what my Prime Mover looked like working from the plans.
HERE is a direct link to his plans website

yes us postage is crippling ... either have to buy more to amortise the poatage cost or know someone with one of those us collection points
toys and joys charge $11 PLUS 25% of your order cost
the link in my first post should be australian though they are simpler plans ... quite easy to do but good “playing with” toys

I would like to mention that for me in the US the Toys and Joys sight says it charges $11 for shipping but when I get the plans they only charged me $5 with a $6 refund, so it may pay to write them and see what the real charges would be.

G'Day Bob, If you do a "google search" you should find a number of free wooden toy plans as that's the way I started.
Alternatively you could buy a books by these; "Norm Marshall" or "Richard Blizzard" which will have a good range of toys to get things started.
Also a number of the older woodworking magazines have free toy plans too.
Hope that's some help, cheers, crowie

On the wood toy wheels, I've bought bulk in the past from Woodworks in Texas USA.
Wooden Toy Wheels & Other Unfinished Wood Wheels
There are a couple of Aussie suppliers but I've not used them...

Hi Taylorrka, I have purchased quite a few plans from the various sources mentioned by other members above...
Both T & J and Gatto, have moderate cost shipment costs in comparrison, however, as someone mentioned to bundle up, if you only buy one plan it mas cost more than the plan itself... by a few and that shipping gets apportioned accordingly... will cost just as much but not more than the plans... I found they both take about 1 month to ship to Aust. From Cherry Tree my last purchase of 5 plans ($66.75 USD) cost me $49.08 USD. Bloody disproportionate as it's really should be just envelopes... though the Yanks like to use BIG BOXES which cost BIG BUCKS. It's our fault for living in Australia and how could the Aust. Post and USPS executives draw their million dollar salaries if they charged us a fair price?
If you want detailed models, try out this site by Dutchy . All his plans are electronic so they are delivery free. Furthermore he has great construction blogs for the builds on Lumberjocks that just about builds them for you. At the moment he only has two plans, working on a new one, and may have the fourth in the pipeline.
