A little more done next will be the ladder assembly starting with the turn table. I have left off all the fine detail until last because of moving it about.
I will be taking a break to do some airbrush work before the ladder starts but that is only for the graetgrandson.
Anyway here are the latest photo's.

Thank you guys. I took a couple of hours out on the build today so that I could paint the great grandsons R/C car using my airbrush.

Thank you Keith.
Just started the ladder turntable assembly and the ladders. Well I say started the turn table it is near completion still requires the pivot to be fitted to the underside which passes through the main truck body but until the ladders are complete I will leave that nearer the end of this section of the build.
The turntable so far. The tank was just a piece of dowel which was meant to be just stuck straight to the base but I thought that it needed a couple of supports these can be seen better in the second photo.

Just thought I would show the amount of holes that I needed to drill or the extending ladder as well as the two that sit on the back of the engine.
I had to drill all of the holes twice as the 1/8" bit left the dowel very tight in the hole not leaving any room for glue. In total there are 184 I did double up some of the parts and drilled two at a time which helped a bit. Now need to cut all the dowel up and start to assembly this little lot.
This shows two of the parts showing the row of holes on the thin side

And all of the holes on the sides

As well as the groove that needed routing luckily I had a 3.2mm bit in my dolls house router set

Most of the ladder assembly is just placed on the engine there are still small bits to it before it can be permanently attached as well as a finish applied. then it is some small pieces on the main body like the mirrors and grab rails.
Then it will be onto the final parts the wheels so not much to do now before it will be finished and on to doing the write-up.

One super fine looking project and I think you'll like the Gatto plans a little different approach to giving out the info [more reading] but has a lot more details that will fit you to a tee!!!
A hint for those using the Gatto plans most of the pictures are full size but some to save space are 1/2 sized so just take them to the printer and blow them up 200% or so.An Index Of My Model making Blogs on Lumber Jocks.
