Well here’s a turn up for the books!
Though a lady in my wife “Smooth Movers Class” [gentle gymnastics for over 50’s] I was introduced to her husbands boss who owns a local Picture Framing business and Craft Shop which has attached a Repair Shop styled upon the British TV Show.
I was asked to drop in with some of the photos of the toys I make.
We long story short, the owner was very excited to see a toymaker in his shop and asked me to being some toys to the shop as he didn’t have anything like what I did, stating there was a huge market for hand made wooden toys.
So a quick 25 hours over a week or so and hey presto, a Ford “C” Cab Truck to take and show him.
The truck is 20” [510mm] long; 8.5” [225mm] wide; 8” [200mm] high.
Their is a mixture of reclaimed and recycled timbers; Merbau, Pacific Maple, Tallow Wood, Spotted Gum, Red Gum and Oregon.
The wheels are shop bought ask are the furniture button taillights and fuel caps.
I’ve used my homemade Wipe-On_Poly, 3 coats to finish it and added a “Ford Logo” on the back of the tray.
The truck was taken by the owner on the spot when I returned to the shop to show him what I like to make.
He claimed it for his own and has displayed it in the shop as a conversation piece with the view to gain commission work for me; wow!
I also gave him a few of the smaller vehicles for his shop to sell.
He wants to support local craftsman and introduce locals & visitors to hand made wooden toys.

Nice truck Peter, another top build. I’m hanging out to get back to the shed, wife had a bad fall and I’m playing nursemaid for quite some time.
Keep them coming so I have some inspiration for the future.
let’s hope h3 sells plenty for you.

Long slow recovery, dislocated both shoulders, fractured left shoulder, ligament damage right shoulder, fractured nose, lacerated nose and hand. Left shoulder already operated on and in a sling for 10 to 13 weeks, then will need an op on the right. Both arms out of action, 7 weeks in and now she can handle a fork to eat and hold a glass to drink.
This combined with her Parkinson’s adds up to a slow recovery.
cheers
