    Default Gipsy wagons

I'm trying to come up with new things. Here are a few: a gipsy wagon, some scrollsaw work, and a second not-yet-finished wagon. The first wagon was kind of easy, just put all the pieces on the sides... The scrollsaw work is a plaquet for a friend, with the Japanese caracters for "friend" sawn out. It's about 16 cm high. This takes my concentration to the limit! But, she's worth it. The second wagon I'm still working on. It was not easy to get the roof in one piece curved. Other then the first, where the roof is made of long strips. Just take a look at the pictures...

Winter's coming up, so I'm harly leaving the house now. Can't stand the cold: daytime now gives us about 5 to 7° C. The worst has yet to come... Think about moving somewhere south where it's a bit warmer!

Default Top marks for a beaut WIP photo set

Top marks for a beaut WIP photo set Leo...
Could you post a few more details please on sizes, thank you...
Sorry for your cold but you are only starting your winter and it'll get colder.
I won't complain about our mid to high 30's deg"c" over the next few months, it helps warm the pool for swimming.
    Cheers, crowie.

    Default Dimensions

I've had a few busy days. Christmas coming up and suddenly people remember where they can get original presents: with me! I've had 5 commissions coming in and some of them were totaly new to me so I had to make drawings and such. So, I turned on the heating in my workshop and got started. Now I'm waiting for the glue to harden out, and I can take some time. The first gipsy wagon is 40 cm long, 10cm wide and 10cm high from the bottom plate up. The roof is made of strips of 3 mm ply, 20 mm wide. The sides are the same ply, strips of 12 mm wide placed at an angle. Front and rear doors are pyro-made. The rocking chair is 70 mm high... The second wagon is completely different: the grooves are cut out with my proxxon machine. First a strait cut, then a cut at 45°. The ends are cut at 45° to assemble front, back and sides. Door and window frames are strips of 3 mm ply. Above the bottomplate the wagon is also 40 cm long, 14 cm wide and 14 high total hight will be about 22 cm, wich incudes the roof and the wheels. I try to keep proportions: a door is 40 x 100 mm, corresponding to a real door of 80 x 200 cm... The chair lying there is 40 x 40 x70 mm, still have to make one more of a set of four, cut out with the scrollsaw from 3 mm ply. I first mde a frame for the roof, then took a piece of ply and cut grooves at 5 mm intervals of 1.5 mm deep. This allowed the ply to bend withouth breaking Attaching it to the frame was hell as you can see on the pics. Two benches are ready, and a round table can be put in between the chairs insed the wagon. Questions about more details? Just ask, including a plan (wich I should be drawing, but did'nt take the time, so there is none) for the chairs or so.
