    Default Hot Rod

Seeing Crowie (Peter) has reinvigorated toy making, I thought I had better join in. A couple of months ago I met a builder and owner of a 27 T Ford Bucket Hot Rod. One look at the vehicle and it would be a great model to make. I was supplied with all measurements and photos to get any information I needed. Started on the mag wheels, rims are only 41 mm diam, front tyre 180 mm wide, rear 305 mm wide. Scale of the vehicle will be 10/1, finished length will be 332 mm long. See what I can do before I the venture north for the winter.
    cheers John.

Always enjoy watching a master craftsman at work, thank you John...

I'm struggling a bit the Hot Rod or the model of the Hot Rod....both would be just the best of both worlds.

Let's hope John's trip north is far enough away for this ride to take shape.

    Cheers, Peter

I think I bit off more than possible with a 10/1 scale, maybe next time I will follow Trev and go for 3/1 or 4/1 scale toy. Utterly impossible to get the detail
in wood. Made the rear suspension, springs may have to be adjusted when the body is fitted. Making good progress with the time I have. John.

I'd love to see the detail and finish a craftsman of your calibre would achieve working at a larger scale.
I doubt I could even begin to come up with a word that would do justice to the end result!.
Honestly John your work inspires me every time I have the pleasure of seeing it.

    Cheers
    Trev.

Have been working on the front suspension , steering etc. The front has a transverse leaf spring, this has a solid spring, no hope of being able to get any
movement. This type of suspension on the front I have been told , is known as suicide suspension! Still to work out how to operate the steering.
Got the radiator sitting up in position, will start on the bucket body next. John.
