    Default Interactive candy launching catapult

    Hey guys,

I have built a candy launching catapult for my kid's birthday party.
You have to hit the vertical plate by a ball or something to trigger, then you have to catch what is flying towards you
It was a great attraction to all the kids and they had a lot of fun...

If you are interested about any dimensions, how it works or how I built it I have made a video about it:

Just stop the video at the 1:20 mark and take a shot of the screen as most dimensions are there.

    Hey guys,
Thank you very much for your kind comments I really appreciate it.
I will post the picture with the dimensions tonight when I am back home from work.

If you need more details maybe about the cage of the trigger arm just let me know. When I built it I just tried out how it works best for me.

    Thanks
    Daniel

    Bravo!
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

    Hey guys,

    I finally made it

    (Sorry for the delay...)

    Here are the dimensions

    backDims.jpg

I hope it will help you....

Actually I didn't care much about the overall dimensions...
I think the rough relations between trigger and throwing arm are important...

Important thing is that when the catapult is under tension the trigger arm should lean about 10 °
against the throwing arm. To avoid unwanted action, I additionally glued a sanding paper under the trigger block to
increase resistance. To minimize the stress for the triggerarm and the cage it is important to minimize the distances
between the arm and the stoppers of the cage.
In trigger situation the max space between the released throwing arm and the trigger block is about 6mm.

    Hope it helps
