Lightning McQueen replica for a very special little boy.
Lightning McQueen replica for a very special little boy.
A month ago today our youngest grandson [3.75yrs old Asher] underwent a 9.5hr heart plumbing upgrade, his 4th heart surgery.
He spent 2 weeks in PICU then a week and a half in a ward. He's home now on a 6-8 week recovery program.
My wife spent most of the month at our daughters looking after their 18mth old daughter.
I had to make myself busy, in the shed of course.
Asher loves number and the "CARS" movie so I tried to look for a plan to make a Lightning McQueen car but no luck.
Next Step was to make a look alike replica using whatever I could find on the internet and adapt it.
I had a good amount of help from fellow Lumberjocks which has been very much appreciated.
I did a blog on Lumberjocks here with all the WIP photos....

Great to hear Asher is doing well after some very delicate surgery. He will get many hours of enjoyment playing with the car from your many hours of making it, especially when you had to fend for yourself for about a month!
