Some more little rascals
Hi All
Some more cars that I made recently.
Scored an old Oregon (Douglas Fir) post from a mate and milled it down to a usable size.
Nice to work with, but wouldn't use it on small pieces.
The bodies on all of these are 1.5 inches thick, which is always a challenge on the scroll saw.
Few other timbers in here. There is some Merbau from some old decking timbers and Pine of course.
Also some Cypress and a bit of African Sapelle on some of the guards.
It's hard to find an Australian dark timber that is not too hard. I use Tassie Blackwood sometimes, which is nice.
I would be keen to hear of any other reasonably priced Dark coloured timber that is not as hard as an Eskimo's nipples in a snow storm.
All finished with Howards Butcher Block Conditioner. Love the stuff.

They look great.
Do you have any plans for them, that you would care to share?
