Default Looking for a dollhouse maker

    Hello,

Hope I am posting this in the right spot! I am looking for someone handy to Melbourne or the Geelong region to make a wooden dollhouse for me to my design based on photos from my childhood dollhouse and another house.

I am looking for a high quality item to become an heirloom. I have a reasonably open budget and in no rush.

Thank you if anyone is interested!

Just to keep the door open I am sure you will find some wonderful talent available to you through this forum.

Most of us, myself included do this for our children , grand children or close friends kids.

I am sure you will find someone here, so hang around. Providing you have a long enough lead in time I do not think you will be disappointed. You have to remember, the majority of us are experienced woodworkers ,but amateurs and not professionals.

If you want something quick then maybe the professional woodworker is where you need to head. If you just wanted a generic doll's house I could direct you into a few directions, but for one to your own plans they will have to answer for themselves.

Good luck in your search. And remember, their is always someone who is prepared to do it a bit cheaper and a with a bit less quality attached. It is your choice.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'm open to either a professional or amateur. I don't mind a hobbyist, as long as they have made a house before or something similar.

I definitely don't want to compromise on quality, I see ready-made houses can be up to $500 so I assume a made to design good wooden one wont be cheap. This is to be a special item so thats fine.

How would I find a professional?

Minty01,- If you were over the border and nearer to Adelaide, I would put my hand up, as have made quite a lot of both toy doll houses, and Australana, " Pioneer," style Doll houses over the years.( See my bit of promo in the new Businesses, & Services Section of this forum ) Although I have been a Toy-maker / Designer for about 25 years, I still class myself as an Amateur,- but IF you get stuck for someone closer to you to construct the Doll House for you, give me a, " Whistle, ' and we shall go from there. Can also draw a bit as design, and market my own range of Toy Plans which comes in handy. Distance wise,- I get good parcel freight service thru TOLL parcel express, as know the local agent quite well, which does help.
Anyway IF you can find someone closer to you,- go for it. IF you can't, " give me a, whistle."

    Default Search dollhouse

    Hello Minty01
All the forum members here are top notch builders but very modest also. You may want to see in advance a certain style of work for your doll house. To do this click on search (it is in the bar near the top) and type in doll house and and you shall see some great work to pick from. The ones you like you could pm these makers and see if they will do your building
    Hope this helps

    Sorry I'm too far away but would struggle doing something commerical;
but would like to see the photos of what you are hoping to get as an end result.
