Math
How many math people do we have out there? I want to make something that is 1000 feet long scaled down to 6 feet long. What scale would that be?

So, I want to make something scaled to fit said scale that is 32 feet long. What would the math equation be. I want to make an aircraft ft carrier that is 1000 feet long. The planes I need to scale down are 32 feet long. Is this making sense ?

If I understand correctly, the original carrier is 1000' and the original planes are 32'. So, if the carrier model is to be 6' long then the scale is 1:166.7. So the 32' planes would become 0.19' long (32/166.7) or 2.3 inches.

As Fencefurniture wrote,
your dividing factor is 1000/6 - 166.7.
divide 1000ft by 166.7 you get 6 feet.
for your planes at 32 ft convert to inches equals 384 inches.
384 divided by 166.7 gives a length of 2.3 inches.
All your original mesurements will be divided by 166.7 to give you your scaled down model.____________________________________________________________

Thanks everyone. Math isn't a strong area of mine. They didn't take much time with people in school when I was a youngster
