Mining Truck
Playing with another Mining Truck as I already had some wheels ready from the last time I built one.
This time will use walnut and maple as this is what’s scraps are in the shop.
The wheels are 3” so are 1 1/4” smaller than the plans call for, because of this I shrunk the plans down to work.
I just don’t need a model with 4 1/4” wheels way to big, I built the hummer and man is it a big monster of a model.
Here’s what the wheels would have looked like.
Takes quite a bit a time to get enough wide wood made up for this truck.
Parts just set in place so you get an idea of what’s going on.

G’day Bruce, Shed time is the best therapy yet; all one hurts, aches and pains just seem to not be there as one concentrated on creating/making something out of timber.
Your models are always first class and the fact that just getting out into the shed is hard work makes the efforts along with the end results even better.
Keep up the great work Bruce, it and you skills are appreciated, thank you.
Cheers Peter

Great stuff Bruce. You've got me thinking now, as I've always planned on having a go at one of these.

Superfoot Over at Lumber Jocks of the 70 something projects I've built the count of those that checked it out is way high compared to most of my other builds so must be a lot of interest in building it.An Index Of My Model making Blogs on Lumber Jocks.

Dalboy "mine aremore stop and start projects" But when you do start!!!
I only have the energy for one project at a time but being retired can stay at it with not many distractions. An Index Of My Model making Blogs on Lumber Jocks.

Got er done!
This is the Mining Truck using Toys and Joys plans, shrunk down to fit with my other models.
It has 3” wheels which works nicely with the semis that use mostly 2 7/8 wheels, they would by the plans be 4 1/4” way to big for my liking.
The only odd angles is the dump box which is made using 13 degrees.
The short blog is here.
You may have noticed but I’m going back through and building models from my collection of plans, may not be that different than last time but used different woods.
