Some proper photos of the progress...
Some proper photos of the progress as promised...
The glue has dried thus far with the fitment of the engine, cabin, sleeper, sidesteps, front mudguards & mudflaps, exhaust stacks, air-cleaners, fuel tanks and the tool boxes.....
The wheels & headlights are just sitting in place as is the "fifth wheel"....
The front bumper bar, rear bumper bar complete with lights needed to be prepared and added....
The drop-deck trailer is just clamped together with the front hitch assembly is almost complete....
I've added a rule to show the lengths of the prime-mover and the trailer....
I still have a long way to go with the build but it's sure starting to come together and I like it....
I hope to present a photo of the completed rig to the owner of the Peterbilt I used as the base for my Peter build.....

Regarding the Blackheart Sassafras, I got some offcuts some time back from Misan Craftwoods
Might be worth a query. Unfortunately, though, the postage from Tassie adds a bit of cost.

Looks great Crowie. All the parts are fitting together perfectly. Just put a real motor in it and you will be able to drive it around.

Looks great Peter. I really like the stacks they add a bit of over the top to it. The figure of the different pieces on the trailer look great as well. Is Handy on holiday or what?

I must admit my heart sank a bit on seeing the use to which you put the BHS!
I know it is a beautiful timber to work with but for me it is better suited to pens, boxes and bowls.

It was all very short offcuts with the grain running down the short lengths...
They were mostly about 3" long each so my forum mate passed them on so they would be used.....
I have had to glue & laminate 10 pieces to make the sleeper plus glue & biscuit another 7 + 3 to make the boards...
I thought I'd made pretty good use of the offcuts...it is beautiful timber and I would of hated to see it wasted....

Thanks Bret, The stacks were inspired by some builds I'd seen the Chrome Stop Marfia do on Trick my Truck....
