Red face Sub from 20000 thousand leagues under the sea

Going to try something a little different and build the submarine form 20000 thousand leagues under the sea.
No plans just a picture I found that should give me what I need.
Here’s my first days work. As you can tell I didn’t start taking pictures till I had the shape kinda figured out and how I might go about this project with no knowledge of subs or boat building..

Here I’m on the band saw giving the ship some shape.

All sanded and you get a look at the pictures I found to base my build on.

I loved this movie and just hope I can do the model any where close to the way it should be.

Sorry some may not know which sub or movie it was based on.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a 1954 American Technicoloradventure film and the first science fiction film shot in CinemaScope. The film was personally produced by Walt Disney through Walt Disney Productions,
It is made in the way cool Steam Punk style.

    It is called the Nautilus

    Great start Bruce,
I have a photo of a sculpture of the good ship "Nautilus" from our trip there a couple of years back; I'll try to find it for you.
    Cheers, Peter

This is a really fun build, really having to put my thinking cap on for this, it's so different from any thing else I've ever done.
It's going to be very simple as you can see it's only 18" long so far, so a lot a details are out, I guess it's more of a toy where you have to use your imagination to fill in the details.

    Lightbulb Steam punk tank

Love your work . Love Steam punk. I look forward to seeing it finished. If your current progress is anything to go by it will be outstanding.
I'm inspired to have a crack at something like that my self. I like making Steam trains and Tanks. What if I combined the two? Hmmmmm.
