I spent most of the day in the shed and have made some progress....
I've had to re-make a few things; both after mistakes and after changing my mind with the way some things looked.
Some of the glueing is done with the "roo-bar" [bullbar], mudguards, steps & fuel tanks in place.
Everything just takes time, especially with the re-works.
Thank goodness the back spasams have settled.
The tri-axle idea was very good, thanks Bret as it looks so much more like a "tough truck" in the first photo.
I shaped the top rail on the bullbar and have added the holes for the headlights.
Good news Steve, that you are becoming interested in the toymaking; help use the grey matter, the imagination, the hands and so rewarding & relaxing.
We've got such a great mob of blokes & ladies in this part of the forum.
Cheers, crowie

Coming along nicely, Pete.
I like the tri-axle look too and the fuel tanks look great..
I will have a go at toy-making, but I'm not sure how soon. My calendar seems to be booked for a long period right now, with thoughts of another scale car model.... Steve

Looks great Peter. You are really starting to add some great detail to your toymaking. The fuel tanks look perfect along with the bullbar.

Thank you one & all, nearly there....
Thank you one & all, nearly there....
Pretty well finished the assembly & glueing today.
Have I missed anything???
Added some hardwood to the front of the sides of the tow-head were the arms to rest.
had to remake the "chain tray" as I broke the first rear bumper bar when drilling the holes for the tail lights.
Made up another set of big airhorns and a orange hazard light.
Had some fun trying to work out a "hookup" mechanism.
The finishing is now all that needs doing before the polyurethane spray.
Cheers, crowie

Looks fantastic Pete.
I love that cab style.
Those exhaust cowls are effective, too, with the little holes.
Are they golf tees?... Steve

Excellent work Crowie. you have really gone to town on this one. looks terrific. Hope you got a license to drive a tri-axle though. The third axle made a vast improvement .
Reality is no background music.
Cheers John

Finally Finished
Finally Finished with 5 coats of polyurathane pressure pack....
It's been smokey with bushfire hasard reduction during the week & a windy on/off for the past couple of weeks.
The grandson is very impressed and personally so am I.
The only thing I might re-do is the knot on the "hookup".
Thank you one & all for support & encouragement; much appreciated.
Anyways, here are the photos of the end result.
Cheers, crowie
