    Thanks Trev.

I fixed the face in place today, I ended up having to fix a counterweight to the mechanism to stop the beak resting in the up position. I thought about just using a friction disc but I want it as reliable as possible and if there's friction there's wear.

I'll hopefully paint over the caulk around the face tomorrow, I'm pretty happy with how it's looking.

Third dolphin is almost done, for some reason I have put the bottom fins a bit far back which is annoying, I'll have to dig up the drawing I use. I just used one outline and scaled it for each but it seems dolphins don't grow that way and I realised this after looking at a pic of an adult dolphin, whoops!

Only had around an hour messing around with the back end today so it's still pretty rough.
There are three 3mm dowels running through the tail so I had to get the position spot on so I didn't expose them when trimming the tail down.
I'll finish it and the plane on Friday.

Didn't quite finish the plane, the finish is a bit rough and there is no rear landing gear but it still looks acceptable. Everyone that has seen the owl seems to be impressed, getting pretty sick of office workers telling me I should set up a stall, it takes ages to make this stuff, ages=dollars!

My nephew seemed to enjoy the $5 I put in the plane more than the plane itself, I gave my niece a bunch of limited run coins so I thought I better give my nephew some money too.

Slightly better shot of the plane, lots of veneer as always.
The second tail actually came up pretty good, using a spiral saw instead of a Dremel takes some effort though.

Seems I will be making a toy for myself, going to make a soundbar but a bit bigger than normal as it will house a subwoofer.

I don't have any way to cut square so I think I am going to have to give a cut list to Mr Ply & Wood and then make a dress piece for the front.
Speakers and power is all sorted but I haven't ordered a volume control yet, I'll do that soon.

I'm not sure how to finish the box, I've never used veneer as God intended so that may be a bit of fun it would however have to be ebonised or a mahonany sort of colour to blend in. I like lighter timber on speakers but not if I have to live with them, they shouldn't stand out, in my opinion anyway.

Had a bit of an experiment today and it came up quite nice for a roughly done job, I will do the same at the other end then try to get them identical.

My nephew spotted the 2CV a little while ago and said his birthday is coming up and that he wants it for his birthday.

Quick test to see how wax comes up, looks much better than Shellac, just a single coat before gluing.

Thanks Keith, sadly it cracked a wheel arch on the first night. It did a jump and landed on a table, hahaha!
I wasn't concerned as I told him it was just a "for the time being" toy as I have started making a rocket with a three colour flashing LED flame, it will be done in a few days. It has 15 LEDs and will recharge from a launching station of sorts.

    Sorry to hear about that.

Look forward to seeing the rocket
