    Default Toy train

Here's a pull-along train i recently made for someone who couldn't find a 'big one' in the stores. So i made her a train over 1m long (39.37 inches)
So far this is my biggest toy.. Not as refined as the amazing stuff i see on this forum.. on the other hand sturdy enough for a one-year old + the not that careful years to come..

As requested before: many photo's this time

Very nicely made and I like the little insignia on the top. How was this done?
The wood looks very similar to our Silky Oak, what is it?
It should stand up to plenty of rough treatment over the next few years.

Glad you all enjoy it! )

The train is made of beech. The most common hardwood for toys around here (in Belgium)
    The insignia is laser-engraved.
In a city nearby i can rent a lasercutter/engraver by the 20 minutes.
I prepare the files in Inkscape at home. Great for personalisation and finishing touches.

    That looks fantastic.

Are there any plans available for it, or is it made up from memory?

That is really cool, nice cartoon-ish look to it, nice old piece of timber for the loco body too.

I also use a lot of Beech in my toy making as it is a great hardwood with very close grain

I made a sketchup model that i can share. I needed to use a temporary link because the file exceeds the limit of this forum: https://we.tl/hNg8o80YrH
    Hope this is useful.

You need to download "Sketchup 2016" to view the file...I think that's what I had to do....
