Default Not Quite Toys - Novelty Bookends - Try Again

I made a complete hash of this the first time I tried to post it so here goes take 2.

I've been making some novelty bookends for my grandson's over the past few months and this pair is the latest iteration. 'Donor' vehicles have been a fire truck, dump truck and this tractor.

First pic. - Sanded to 400 grit and after a coat of sanding sealer (donor vehicle in the background already cut in half).

Second pic. - Sanded to 600 grit and pre-finished ready for glue up.

    Third pic. - Glue up.
    Bookends 3.JPG
And fourth, fifth, sixth pics. - The finished product.

If the boys run true to form the first thing the recipient will do is try to take the tractor off.

    Cheers,
    David

Unfortunately the photos won't open. It would be good to see the ends from other angles because what I can see so far looks good.

Thanks for that Dallas. Hopefully all fixed (he says as he crosses everything).

All good now. That's a very novel idea and you have put a lot of effort in making them very solid with a great finish. I'm sure the boys will love them.

I love this idea and was looking for one of my models to do it with BUT to cut one in half, I don't think I can handle it.
