Thread: Making toys using dremel tools?

A heads-up about the Dremel router accessories:
You can get attachments that turn the Dremel (I have a 400, but they should fit any model) into a hand-held or table-mounted router. I've found that the hand-held unit needs a lot more pressure on the screws holding the fence in place than you might expect - otherwise it slips, leading to unpredictable and unwanted results. And the router table unit might not have a flat surface; mine has quite a crown in it, which I've fixed by embedding the whole thing in a frame with a false top - loses 3mm of routable depth, but keeps things level.
I have a fairly full set of Dremel gear and, the routing attachments aside, it's really good stuff for modelling and for a lot of fiddly jobs.

Thanks for the info ToothFairy (should it be TruthFairy?)
If I keep on working long and hard, maybe one day I can afford one...
or maybe, just maybe, the (real) tooth fairy will leave one under my pillow.

Yes....... get a Dremel..... or two... or three! I love them.
We have one permanently mounted on their small router table, which Ken changed so it can be tilted up so I can reach the Dremel more easy.
One of course is Ken's ..... but Santa brought me my own last year.. strange looking thing.. reminds me of a small gun actually! lol It's cordless and absolutely fantastic. Lost of power, lasts a long time, and the shape gives really good control.
We do have a couple of the cheap ones too, but really like the Dremels the best as they seem to lay better in one's hand.
