Tracked Toys
I am in the process of making a tracked toy dozer and request Members' thoughts whether I should enclose or leave exposed the running wheels.
I have attached some Pics of the "draft" base from which you will see the tracks are made of treads glued to webbing but the toy runs on wheels, not the tracks. The tracks sit a couple of mm's off the ground and run off the rear running wheels.
My qst to Members is whether I should leave the running wheels exposed or whether I should cover them with the upper body of the toy. I want this toy to be played with by kids (as opposed to a model or display toy) and therefore need to consider what will be the strongest / toughest option.
All opinions greatly rec'd.
Geoff

G’day Geoff. Nice start sir and really I think it’s your personal opinion knowing to who the children who’ll be playing with the toy. Covering or hiding the wheels might be preferable for a model look you but for play, the children will just love playing with it. Cheers Peter

Great looking toy! Personally, I would hide the top of the wheels under the body
