Sorry for not answering any questions, the main one what colour blue am I using, well here is a sneak preview and as I have not seen Handy and his side kick from either sides of the world to me I have found a little helper who keeps snooping around( he is a little shy being the first time in front of the camera)

G'Day Derek, Just love that you've selected one of my all time favourites little blokes as a helper "snoopy"...
Just keep him away from Jim's plane as he has had a love affair with flying and dog fighting....
Keep enjoying the garden and your summer while they last; it's getting cold here as winter starts....18-19"C" in the day & 9-10 overnight....
Thank you for the sneak preview of your paintwork, cheers crowie..

    Derek,

I reckon the blue looks tremendous. The tank engine is coming up a treat. Real credit to you.

    All the best

Thank you all glad you like the blue, I was a little worried that it may have been a little dark against the black which will be on the train but it looks OK.

Managed to get some more painting done today, sorry no photo's

The little helpers are spreading from your workshop Bret.

I can imagine that any newcomers to the toy section will think we are a mad bunch.

Well done to Snoopy for what looks like a top paint job BUT the photographer is a bit lousy with the number of photos.........Cheers, crowie

He's putting me to shame here I will have to let him have an extra cuppa tea.

Should be able to take some more photo's later this week of the completed train. Only the trim detail to add and the wheels to complete the painting on and then a final spray of varnish.

I can't wait to see the finished train mate.
If your painting is half as good as the job Snoopy's doing it will be a masterpiece
    Great stuff!

Snoopy thought he deserved a rest after putting in the extra hours he said he wanted to go to America as He likes Cowboy films. He even dresses the part

One of the best things about being an early riser is your sometimes your the first cab off the rank.
This is a case in point.
Well done Sir, that is an marvellous piece of work you've done with Thomas.
With some help from Snoopy the two of you have really made a beautiful job of it.
Your Grandson will be over the moon with it
    Again really a great piece!

Really a nice job! The grandson will love it! Great colors you chose. Excellent in every way. How did you do the nice straight fine lines on the side of it?

Now for the pedal version, I mean it screams to be made in a pedal version!

The lines could not be simpler I used a Silver sharpie pen and a ruler then very light coats of spray varnish, If you try to much varnish it makes the lines run.

Look forward to the pedal version If I remade this again I would make a slightly deeper chassis and add a coal bunker so that I could make larger wheels. If you make it as a pedal version make the centre wheels smaller and the front ones steerable, makes for easier turning
