    Just about done.
I've got 7 days in this build and it does take time to get to some parts of it.

Needed some thin small tires for the front so here's a few tries using store bought 2" tire.
The smaller the tire the harder to add details to the tires, can you say blow outs.

Love the underbody photo showing the “widies” on the back, all ready for a hot 1/4 mile run….

Maybe this is going to be a HOT ROD VW Transporter Ute/Truck with a Blown Big Block Ford and wild fire flames pipes coming out the side!!

    Top job Bruce, Cheers, Peter

[QUOTE=Handyjack;2063464]Not sure if it is 100% correct, but I heard the Volkwagen engines in the original beetles and no doubt Kombi's and the model you are making were Ok when it dropped below freezing as the engines did not have a radiator and were air cooled.

When I started skiing at Charlottes Pass in ‘63 the oversnow tracked vehicles had VW engines for that reason. I think they were Porsche, but am vague on that point.

I hear you Derek, I have just stepped out of your freezer and into our oven. spent a few days at Elveden Forest right before the snow stopped the A14. Happy to be home.

Cool Gone as far as I'm going to in this cold weather

I know you've all been burning up but it's cold up here so this is it for the VW for now.
Any that would like to see more about this build check out my Lumber Jocks projects page and blog.

And please check out the plans here for the VW Bus plans, and he also has plans for one outstanding farm tractor.
This is a builder from Holland that builds super nice projects and has some really great HowTo's on Lumber Jocks, [me helped me get started making wheels], but has took on making these plans for the bus all by himself, and they are super nice plans.
One other thing you may find interesting is the plans are in metric and how many of those do you find?
He's also doing a blog on building the bus step by step.
If your a first time builder this is a real bonus!!!

I've never personalized a project before but to switch out the VW for HTL [Here To Learn] felt ok this time.
The reason for two of the same picture is one is with flash and one with out, one shows better details and one shows the colors better.

Bruce, That is way cool as the youngin's would say,
BUT quote "never personalized a project"; sir your signature is all over all the beaut wood models I've seen come out of your shop,
whether it be detailing or design you do personalize each and everyone....
This lucky one just has your "handle/logo" front and centre and it's prefect...TOP JOB.
    Cheers, Peter

    Great work by the way.

In my younger days I also had a hot VW... while it only had a top speed of 80KPH... it was stolen!

You were a tad late... the cops had already returned it to the owner and rewarded me by a few free night's accommodation!
